Nondual Meditation—Resting in Awareness

This dimension of my work is a little different than supervision. In these sessions, the focus of our work is abiding effortlessly in the stream of pure awareness. We begin each session wherever you are. You might be content in the moment, or perhaps a recent experience is troubling you, or you’re struggling to address something that’s coming up in the future. Whatever is there, that’s where we will begin. In our conversation, nothing will be ignored. Anything can arise. Your mind produces whatever is relevant to our sessions. Our work together is gentle, intimate and precise, with a lot of space.

Within this field of nonjudgmental, open Nondual awareness we encounter everything that arises—our memories, regrets, fears, pains, hopes, interpretations—as opportunities to return the space that’s really the aim of everything we do. Nothing is suppressed or encouraged beyond the light intention to take advantage of our time together to become more and more familiar with nonduality. Deep feelings and repetitive thought patterns are released in the expanse of awareness.

You will experience many different ways we can unlock contracted experiences. Normally, within a few minutes we enter the vast liberating field of awareness. One of the ways you’ll enter the space of non-conceptual awareness is by seeing the workings of dualistic thinking with more and more clarity. We find ourselves immersed in a mysterious union: a boundaryless awareness in the seamless immediacy of arising thoughts and sensations.

You will savor high-quality meditation. You’ll experience what’s called non-meditation, or automatic meditation, because it’s pristine and also effortless. This isn’t to say that you will be immersed in a samadhi of unthinkability for an entire session. That’s not the aim. Our intention is to discover pathways within our minds that reveal the wide and open dimension of clear, refreshing awareness. You will feel nourished and enriched by having reflected deeply using your own innate wisdom.

We discover how the struggles our present life evaporate in the smooth, clear presencing of awareness. In between sessions you’ll notice that problems have less tractions and edge to them. Issues that may have been deeply disturbing in the past, are more likely to arise as events that happen in the natural course of living an involved and committed life.

I may also give you some simple practices to keep the experience of being wide open, fresh and alive.
